Outside of her clinical and entrepreneurial responsibilities, Dr. Butler finds balance through baking and traveling.
She describes baking as her pleasure—it is relaxing, enjoyable, and completely stress-free. For her, baking provides a creative and peaceful outlet away from the healthcare environment.

Dr. Rachael Butler believes that pharmacy is a hidden gem in the healthcare industry. She is passionate about bringing to light the vital role pharmacists play and showing how a neighborhood pharmacy can serve and make a real difference in the community.
For Dr. Butler, opening her own pharmacy allowed her to provide a more personal touch to the people she serves. She believed that going out on her own was the best way to achieve her vision of delivering personalized, community-focused care.
Dr. Butler has been in pharmacy for 13 years. After working for other pharmacists for approximately 10 years, she decided to open her own pharmacy. Part of what inspired her to take this step was her desire to achieve more by owning her own business.
She also noticed that she didn’t see enough people of color in this wide-open field and wanted to bring greater awareness to the pharmacy profession.
Dr. Butler hopes that by owning her own pharmacy and serving her community, she can help others better understand the important work pharmacists do, while also showing people of color that rewarding opportunities exist in the field.
Dr. Butler explained that pharmacists are often constrained by the limited amount of time they can spend with each patient.
Owning her own pharmacy gives Dr. Butler the opportunity to devote more time to her patients and provide a variety of services in the way that best serves them.
Her goal is to make every customer feel appreciated when they visit and to continue bringing quality, personalized care to her community—and one day to other communities as well.
Owning and managing a pharmacy comes with challenges. Dr. Butler explained that one of the biggest is dealing with the ups and downs of business ownership while ensuring she meets the needs of her patients.
Another major challenge is working with numerous insurance companies. She must navigate the varying requirements of each insurer while determining the best care for every patient.
Dr. Butler noted that working with insurance companies can be difficult, particularly when trying to understand how a patient’s medication is covered.
Despite these challenges, Dr. Butler remains committed to her goal of providing personalized and dependable care for the people she serves.

As the business continues to grow, she is focused on getting the word out through advertising, community outreach, and raising awareness about the services Butler Pharmacy provides.
Her vision is to continue building a pharmacy that is trusted by the community while providing patients with the personalized attention and quality care they deserve.
